WBW Slowing Down???

Hey everyone some concerns here...Having trouble lately with the speed of our beloved website.

It seems that after 15 minutes of being logged on, the server basically quits and takes up to 7 minutes to load the next page. This is the same if I'm browsing or posting...rating and private messages the same.

Anyone else having this problem???

Yes suspicious...seems that it started for me just after they rebooted the site that one night. Remeber the notice they sent up. Funny now...five minutes later it's back to normal but it sometimes gets so bad that it takes like almost 10 minutes to log off.

Same here. Does not seem to matter which server I am on either.

Try the other servers.

If any WBW Crew see this maybe a mention to whoever deals with these issues would be in order. I'm jsut glad it isn't just me...this could become a much bigger problem. I have spent little time on here in the last 2 weeks solely because of this.

what is the difference with the different servers. If I just type in www.whatboyswant.com what does that take me too? Is it different each time or what? Nobody has discussed this stuff with me before.

http://www.whatboyswant.com usually directs you towards our aging server Alice. She is the slowest, and fragile of the three. Try FeFe or Jamie.

Okay, so Alice is the slow one...and the reason we have three servers is because of the amount of traffic to keep it fast? Or...?

And so why don't we delete the Alice server? I'm a little confused? And so going onto Jamie or Fefe will keep me speedy, and it's the same site right?

We have multiple servers to keep up pace with the users. The distribution of power helps to keep WBW running. You cannot delete a server, it is an actual physical piece of hardware. We keep it because despite your experiences, it does help cut down each other server's load.

What would you to expect to run faster? One server with a thousand people on it? Or three servers with a third of the population on each one? Cutting it down to two servers still means a larger workload which means overall the site will become slower.

We'll eventually have the funds to replace Alice with a more powerful server. But for now, it is all we have.
