WBW :: Feature request and Bug report topic

Okay, please don't take this as me "bitching."

I have a ton of credits. I never use them. It's not a big deal. I do like seeing my little numbers go up, though. I also like hunting down duplicate pictures.

Lately I've noticed that when I report a picture, it gets removed but I'm not getting credits for it. I know that you guys only give credits for the first reporter, but I've been reporting some pretty obscure duplicates lately, and then they're removed, but I'm not getting credits for it. I somehow doubt that anyone else is beating me to the punch on some of these. especially considering the number of them that I've reported from really kind of random and "probably not viewed for two years" photos.

If that could be automated that would make everyone's life easier and the mods wouldn't have to worry about it, and the incentive would still be there for those that wanted for such things.



On that note, again I mention the notion of "merging" pictures instead of deleting them, because recently I've noticed when reporting pics that it's not always the oldest one that gets deleted. Sometimes the mod actually keeps the dupe and deletes the original - which I happen to have favorited because I know the older one is the one the site prefers to keep.

Mistakes happen, it's human... But merging instead of deleting dupes would keep everyone happy in that regard.

I've been off work this week so I've been spending a TON of time deleting dupes from the galleries...3000+ so far. I don't have access to the reported pictures log so I could very well be deleting stuff that you're reporting.

As for merging pics, I just can't see that working. Even if it was somehow implemented I don't think many would use it. Who has the time or resources to keep track of which picture is the original and which is the dupe?

Actually... I usually... Include the ID number of the pic it's a dupe of...

Don't judge me.

Maybe it's a pipe dream but I would love an ajax rating system so that when I vote the whole page doesn't have to reload. I've voted 42k+ times and I've noticed there is often a delayed response. Just an idea.

Okay, so... How about a list of "pics that need tagging?"

Make it put the oldest pics up first into the queue so that they get tagged first. This would greatly aid in both tagging as well as in dupe hunting (since the older pics would get tagged more often).

I note my score before cruising the gallery. It helps me keep up where I left off.

When I returned from a tagging and bagging session over 400 votes were El Gon0.

Here I was cussing Julesxxx for doing his job and it was you.

The tagging will help with dupes. I notice several when I'm in the gallery but I'm too lazy to go back and find them.

Yeah, I've been debating whether or not to delete pics with a bunch of tags or to just skip them even if I know they're dupes. Luckily, most pics I've been taking out aren't tagged yet.

[BUG] The 30 day automatic thread lock seems to be broken. I've seen quite a few threads brought back from the dead lately that hadn't been posted to in 2-3 months.

Quick feature request but one that i doubt will be particularly useful for anyone.

I had a look at the top members list and noticed that 6 of the top 20 members hadnt logged on in November (in fact if the dates are to be believed one of the top 5 members hasnt been online for over a year).

Made me think that either an option to see the week's, months' years top members would be nice or log on dates need to be unified from one source rather than local or reported log on times.

I hope this is the right place to post this, buttt! I've put 'no' for enabling private messages, yet I still get messages from people. Why is that?
If I wanted to get messages still, I wouldn't have clicked no, grrrrrrrrr!

Yeah, the disable PM button is broken, but this is still a good reminder that it needs to be fixed.

Maybe we should get a load of annoying people to message the person who fixes things, then they might fix it quicker?
