Nah, it's just a unix timestamp thing. It counts seconds from the date 1.1. 1970 till this day. So if you give null value, the default is always the starting point.

It's probably used for the people that aren't members that want to upload pics. Maybe all of the pics uploaded by 'Anonymous' are stored on that profile, so Diz has to have it online all the time.
