Video Troubleshooting

Hi all, new WBW member here! Just a quick question, I really like the "Movies" section of the site, however, nothing I download works. Every movie I download plays about 2x it's normal speed, and then crashes my Windows Media Player a few seconds into it. I've also noticed that these videos do no show up as a thumbnail on the media folder of "My Computer". Also, there are other movies I have gotten from the forums of this site that play just fine.

I'm running Win XP. I tried updating to the newest version of Media Player, I tried playing vids through winamp, and updating to the newest direct x. nothing works, any suggestions?

Do you have the proper codecs?

use Divx or bsplayer, I have the same problem with win media player and divx vids.

or just download the divx codecs from www.divx.com instead of filling your computer with more media players

Stop using WiMP. VLC (www.videonlan.org) works wonders and already includes the proper binaries for viewing videos.

The DivX download did the trick. I'm impressed!
