User Score really needs real good finetuning #2

POOP, penality points is a bad idea i think

I also think penalty points for saying bad words its a bad Idea...
I have exprienced people flaming eachother in here..
I'd rather that there would be a ban function for you..
something like.. people can report bad visitors on WBW, and ban them from the site or something like it.

i think u have to make sure not to penalise people for small things or easily...like it shouldnt be enuf that ONE person says u been bad..otherwise good luck keeping it fair.. and as to wat qbone said, i definitely think baning should be an option but only for the worst of behaviour...its kinda final if u know wat i mean!

Maybe we should introduce a point system.. for every post you make you can give points? or something like that?

one point per post?? damn that would be lots of points to throw around....maybe extra points to give out for the most active in each category (posting, uploading, voting....) Or some sort of voting for who u think should receive extra points? i think that idea has been thrown around previously soo

on second thought i think we NEED a penalty/ban system to keep som of the most unpleasant attitudes away..is it just me or are some of the forum getting slightly more nasty and "aggressive"? theres been quite a few forum turn into name-calling..

I agree with you we are all on here to have a laugh but there have been some who have been getting insulting to ther users or trying to flex their muscles...if i didn't know any better i would say there were a lot of 14 yr olds on here trying to flex their atitudes :p

Some peokple like bitching on eachother like 14 yr old, I think we have to try to keep this an happy and relext communitie with tollerance and respect for eachother!

I am tweaking the point system right now, and hope to finish first phase of system in 2 hours.. I am trying to make the system as nice as posible for everybody..

I think you should have left the point system the same as it was, but make more and more ranks as you get more points. Something like that.

And I agree that a penalty system would be ok, but there would have to be some sort of guidelines for when someone deserves to be penalized. I know I say "fuck" a lot, but that's my favorite word and I don't see that saying it hurts anyone. But if I were to say "fuck you" to someone, that's definitely vicious and ought to be dealt with. I'm just saying there shouldn't be like a wordbot penalizing people for certain phrases or anything like that (and that may not have been what you had in mind)

I also think that to a degree it is healthy to argue and debate, as long as the arguments are well-founded and supported. No reason to penalize someone for sharing their opinion about a topic. But when people are rude or hurtful, that's a different story. The problem lies in determining what the line is, and how to tell when someone has crossed it.

And the formula used at the moment:
score = (picture x (average_score_picture/2)) + (Forum_comment x 2) + (Comment x 1) = Score!

Maybe is should add the times you voted? Any other things?

About the penality system, it was not to punisch people hard or something like it, it was just a tought that crossed my mind....

7000 to get to Demigod? I am really going to have to find those diskettes I put in storage.

no i agree with that, demigod should be something you strive for. not to pick on people but some people were demigods on here after they uploaded some pics in one day. with the new zip upload, uploading a ton of pics isnt that hard. with 7000 points needed to be a demigod, it will take some time and effort to become one. which i think is what this site needs. this will make sure people are contributing to make this site the best, which may be hard to do seeing how good it is already.

Nahh its not too much 7000 pts makes ppl work for demigod, and not only sit here and upload pics for like an hour or so.

7000 is good. i just went down 1000 pts but got up one level

hey, i was wondering if we could suggest names for the user levels? the "exhibitionist" tag could use a upgrade i thought. im sure everybody here likes to see exhibitionits, but as far as actually being one..... but i do commend you for coming up with 20 levels on your own diz-x

Hehe CarRacer: Sometimes you have to do it yourself If you can think of some other levels, i am glad to add them too the list

You Should Be Running This Place (really really high level) just kidding
Super User (high level)

Wannabe isn't an real attractive status The status names couldn't be too long.. be cause the wouldn't fit
