Upload Problem

I just uploaded a zip file of pics. It was a large file (7.55 MB), it took a long time to upload but it seemed to go fine with the report displayed at the end. The problem is that it had logged me out in the mean time and so the files went in as Guest. It's not a big deal but I thought it was worth reporting the bug. I saw another report about this but it was over a year old.

I'm not sure that it's really a bug. If you don't actively surf on WBW in a certain amount of time you automatically get logged out. You could have a second window open, with for example the forum, during the upload and occasionally click a thread if takes time. Sorry to hear that the upload got lost for you.

I see, the site sees you as inactive because it has received no new input from you although the upload is in progress. I think I'm better off with smaller zip files, breaking it into 2 to 3 meg chunks would work better. Thanks.

That would most likely take care of that problem yes. It takes a little more time but then the uploads would be on your account. Good luck!

Yep, I think that's the issue. When the php script has received your big file, the system handles the user-login information first. That means it removes your current session information because too long idle time, after that it moves your uploaded package to the right place and marks the uploader as Guest cos your session information was invalid. Best thing is to cut those packages in smaller pieces so your idle time doesn't affect the transfer.

Don't worry, they're large pics, there were only 29 pics and only 21 were accepted.
