But I had to go with "great idea" only because the rash of spammers linking to paysites has become damn annoying!

couldn't they be marked with a code? for example, a regular thread would appear:

Title of regular thread

A spam thread would appear

SPAM: Title of spam thread

A thread with language would appear

PROFANITY Title of profane thread

well couldnt we do it so it marks out the Evil spammers for the mods, and the good spammers for the rest of us, that way we dont have to search for a place to just spa....i mean talk shit..
