The Big User Score Topic

Lately I am thinkin of a new score system. Based on quality and user rates posts ect, and maybe WBW users can give away points to other users. (Kudo System). Anyone good idears about this please post!

Maybe give less points for forum posts, that will cut down on spam.

That will cut down on the 50 page topics with 2 pictures in them.

Diz, I see where you're coming from, but see my other post for my view. Basically I think it would be devisive. Users would also give themselves points by logging on under several different names. The top scorers would be the sad cheating fakes, and the genuine regulars who do care about their score would end up resentful.

Personally I think the current system is fine - if it aint broke, bla bla...

Diz, I think the score should be determined my number of uploads and votes compared to forum posts. So people dont make thousands of posts in the forums and only upload a few pictures. Uploads is what keeps this site great

Take away the Forum and you lose the community. The Forum is where members socialize and make friends. Contibuting to that is every bit as important as uploading a zip full of files. It also takes a lot more time and energy than simply uploading and downloading pics and never interacting! Many Forum posters contribute a lot of pics. Ignore them at your peril.

by spam do you mean people posting little stuff on pics to get points? or continuing forum posts with meaningless responses?

Like rainbowdemon said "One mans babe is another mans dog." I like the system the way it is now. The only change I want to see is no more losing points for low picture scores. Change that, and leave the rest as is.

Exactly. Somebody who doesn't have the same tastes as someone else shouldn't be able to hurt thier score.

What do you count as a meaningless response ad-rock ?
And isn't posting a pic in the forum just as worthy as uploading to the queue? (it earns less that way as it is so I believe)
