Suggestion - Private Thread?

EL makes some very good points, and if the server software uses a group model for restriction (such as sponsors, crew, etc) it seems it shouldn't be too hard to have user-managed groups that could then be afforded access on a per-thread level. And as long as non-group-members didn't see the threads they couldn't access (or at least who posted them), then the posters shouldn't get flooded with unwanted PMs trying to get in.

Diz, I'd be glad to expand upon this model if you'd like.

I think it's a pointless addition really. The theory is there, and yes, it would be brilliant to keep out all the weirdos. But as people have already said, it'd be so easy for someone to come across as nice initially, just to get the password to your thread. What is it exactly that puts you off at the moment SillyGoose? Is it people generally being weird and telling you what they do to themselves while looking at your pics? Or are there certain individuals that are continually stalking you via PM? The PM thing can be sorted I'm sure by simply informing a mod, but you'll always have the weirdo comments. If you post your pics on an adult site, I would imagine most of the guys who see them come here for one thing really. Other guys just like to see a pic of the person who is posting, others like to see 'real' girls in various poses, especially if they're cute. But ultimately, I would imagine A LOT of the guys here will keep harassing you to take more and more risque photos, which I imagine is very annoying. I'm just not sure a private thread will make your WBW experience any more enjoyable, due to the amount of work you'd have to put in.

It's not really a bad idea. sounds like you want to stay but at the same time a bit worried. I just hope it all works out in the end.

It would just exclude and alienate too many members without actually fixing anything. The creepy people would still figure out a way in by pretending they're not creepy or they would just bombard you with PM's asking for the "password". Sponsor members would no longer have access to the entire site and may feel cheated and/or excluded. I see more problems then fixes.

I personally love members who make suggestions though so don't ever be afraid to suggest something. It's good to throw things out there for open discussions good or bad. It keeps innovation in the forefront.

Also, I can see both sides to the argument.

Either way, since I'm a douchetastical global mod, I would be able to see the thread.

Here's a thought, what about giving the creator of the thread an option to delete the comments that they do not like. I know that on Facebook I can delete items from my wall. The person will not be able to block anyone so nobody is offeneded but the creator of the thread can go in and clean it up and subltly set the tone and direction of their thread by editing others comments

That's a good idea in theory, but the whole point is to make sure that the thread poster is not offended. Who cares if the creeps who want to ruin everyones good time are offended

Why not have the private messenger only available for sponsor members? That will certainly keep out random douches who sign up for membership simply to stalk and perv, though it won't keep out the stalking/perving sponsors, mods, and crew! It would be another benefit for paid-membership since no one liked the idea of free WBW t-shirts for sponsor members....(whine)

thats a fine idea as in you are fine as hell! so it would work, i than can finally complete my Carradine Super Move. Some members pay so?? is that what would happen?

I second that. Because I would certainly feel cheated if I didn't have access to things on this site, being someone who pays for it. I'm sure a significant amount of creeps on this site are not sponsored members. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are some. Also, there could be repercussions for the sponsored members. If they are accused of harassing someone, they could be kicked out or have their membership taken away.

The e-mail and forum is enought interaction. I still think my previous idea is good allowing people to edit their own threads. Nice and simple. and the person who's comment is deleted won't even know if the user did it or if it was a mod who did it. Most likely the offender won't even know their, "Gee I'd like to....... your......... " got deleted.

I think you're missing the point. That doesn't solve the problem of girls not getting harassed. Yeah they can delete it but the damage of the creep saying it to them is already done.

or you could just send pictures of your hot self to members who you are more comfortable with, hint, hint........
