Suggestion - Private Thread?

What do you guys think about implementing some private thread option? Like you need to be a member and need to get a password from the poster to see it? Might alow more open posting and keep creepies out .

We could add a member only forum. but then again, we are an open forum.

but i mean, leave all the open forums as they are, add one category where its member only and password protected threads. as for business..im thinking it might get more ppl to join if they would want to see those. no?

I like your idea. I don't know how it would work on this site, but it would make it nicer for some people so they don't have to get the creepy comments, etc. like you were getting.

true, would prolly be hard to implement on this site. anyways, was just throwing it out there!

Its the content that is posted here that gets the "creepy comments", it attracts people from all walks of life. Have a closed forum may help lessen it & make posters feel more comfortable, but probably will not stop it completely. just my thought & 5* for the thought.

As good an idea it sounds I can't really see it working, anyone that's creepy enough can make an account and come across as a cool member.

Maybe a built-in Instant Messenger-type application for Members only?

Maybe they would have to PM the person to get the password? Not sure if it would keep out the creepy guys though. I guess if a guy gets creepy you could block them or change the password on them.

And, so the PM box of every female/"female" member of this forum would be flooded 5 times as much as they presently are with password requests for the threads? How is that an improvement on random creepy messages? Being forced to sift through hundreds of PMs daily, just so you can give the password out to a handful of people?

If you don't want to read creepy messages, then don't read them. If you want to send pics or messages to one or two people, do it over the PM system.

I dunno. I mean, I can see both sides of the argument.


On the negative side, it would create a whole lot of work for the person starting the thread, and the members-only part could be kind of off-putting to those not invited to the thread. Further, I'm not entirely sure that it would eliminate the problem of creepy messages and things all together, although it would probably help to some extent.

On the positive side, the main reason pretty much every hot, regular amateur chick has been chased off of here is because a lot of creepers from their real live/whatever have found the site and harassed them or similarly given them a hard time. I'm talking about HBFactor and SugarPie specifically, but I'm sure there are bunches I'm missing. I think such a system could drastically cut down on the random internet surfers stumbling upon people they know/go to school with/etc. and thus perhaps not scare them off. Which would be nice.

Also, I think such a system, especially if implemented to allow only members to see them, could force more lurkers to register (although, I don't really see a reason why they wouldn't have registered for free already).


I think it's a neat idea, and not necessarily horrible, but I'm just a lowly mod - so what do I know.

I don't know, but this whole situation suck big donkey dick. I just wish that we could figure this out already and move on.

Mods here are usually pretty good at figuring shit out, I'm sure they will come up with something.

How about this: Sillygoose - you open up a secret thread and you only pm the people that you want there the password. So, if its a secret thread the creepies wont know about it.
