Is there anyway to improve this- it's like the worst I've seen on any forum. It makes it difficult to avoid reposts or find your own threads.

What is it you're having trouble with exactly? It might be easier to help once people know what the issue is.

The only thing I really wanted with the search function, was to be able to put my name in as "poster" and click "topics only" so I can find all my old threads, but for some reason it is still capped at 2007...which is annoying. That was pretty much all I used it for, but it's a shame it doesn't really...do a lot, in the way of finding stuff..

If I remember the thread title, I just use google..

Sorry, but like jhope said...what is it you're having trouble with exactly?

Well, in this dude's defense, the search function as a whole is kind of broken and useless...so, I mean, how much more accurate do you want him to be?

This, for starters...

I have a pretty good idea what he's talking about... the forum search only really works when you're searching for a single word, because the option for All Words or Any Word doesn't do anything. The results are always "Any Word" which mean you'll get a bazillion threads when you search for "Milf Ami" when in reality, there are probably only a dozen or so posts that actually contain that phrase.

Similarly, you can't search for a phrase or consecutive words like "MILF Ami" because if either of those two words appear anywhere in the topic, even if they're on different pages and posted by different members, they still show up in the results regardless of what options you select.

.... And, there is no way to find the specific post that contains the search criteria. If the thread is 50 pages long, you may have to go through all 50 pages to find the word you were searching for. All other forums I've ever visited allow the search results to be displayed as "Topics" or "Posts", the latter taking you directly to the specific post containing the search criteria.

Furthermore, the results are totally unreliable. Sometimes you can be looking at a thread that contains a specific word, but when you search for that word, the thread you're looking at doesn't even show up in the results. As an example the 5th word in dave's message is "improve", but if you search the forums for the word "improve", this thread IS NOT among the results, even though it also appears TWICE in this sentence.

Oddly enough, the Search Movies page doesn't have an option for All Words or Any Word but it's completely opposite from the Forum search because it only returns results containing All Words which is much more useful than getting a bazillion results that ARE NOT what you were looking for.

that's a nice explanation but can anything be done? It's a minor point but in a way it's kind of major. I wish I had a solution.
