Probably a stupid question..........but look who posted it!!!

Is anyone else having problems wondering if they are uploading a lot of repost or not, I look at a lot of pic threads, would be a full time job to look at them all, but it seems there are so many pics on this site anymore, sometimes it's hard to know if you are reposting pics or not. Anyone else thinking this way, or is it just my mind wondering again

it's hard to recognize reposts, thats why i made a sticky with the most frequent ones. too bad the NPB mods dont keep up with it anymore

jolly, that was a good idea, too bad it's "out of service", it's getting to the point that i don't know if i'm throwing up a repost or not. And i really don't like to step on other peoples "toes" by reposting a pic they put up, but with so many pics now on this site, i think it is becoming one of the most common problems, but usually not ever done intentionally, maybe you should work on a new solution for this problem jolly.

one way to do this would be to have a sticky on top of each subforum with a preview pic of every thread that was made on this day and maybe it's name. People can check it out and see if their subject was posted before or not.

problem with this is that you cant post any previews of those "Random pics" threads. but they contain 90% reposts anyways.

Also you need someone to add the new threads to the sticky and keep it updated on a daily base.

yea, i have about 10,000 pics, and i'm pretty sure a couple might be repost, but which ones...if not all

The current NPB mods are so fucking lazy. Bring out Ves, VicVega and j0lly!

Seriously thought, members should be encouraged to view the threads of the day before posting, and try to find a similar thread to post in.

I'm tired of someone posting 3 pics in a thread, when there are 30 other threads that are close in material. Not to mention the geniuses that make 10 movie threads with 1 vid each, when they can make 1 vid thread with 10 vids each. THOSE guys should have their shit deleted and get PM'ed nicely not to do it again. If they do, warn them. Time to start dropping the hammer!

I don't know shit about programming or how this site is built or what will come with V5.
But to make sure there where no repost in the forums, we would have to catalog all the girls some how.
Somehow have one official thread for each girl without all the comments.
Make it possible to search old post based on more than just the random title given by the poster.
Make it possible to browes through the girls and see their faces and names somehow..

youre not the only one, problem is alot of these big girl posters....only post for the points, so they dont care for quality or reposts, they just post away.

one of the best posters i like, is BDD...not just for the quality of pics...but cause he posts nearly every pic in the first post.

so we basically sigh and give up?

What about user mittico, who posts only 1 word or 1 emoticon posts all around the forum. I wonder if he is the first demigod with 1 word posts.

Indeed, I like his style too. But on the other hand, if the pics are BIG hotlinks, there should be only 1 picture per post. But I really hate the style with only 1 thumbnail per post.

Undoubtedly, loads of the images in quesstion are hosted on wbw's server ('cept for the hotlinked ones obv.)
so surely, someone could run these images through "visipics" ?
this would tkae in excess of a few days..b tu that would pretty much cure the problem no?
Upside is, no one needs to physically heave through every imageand check them all..
that would take decades.

Well even in the que there is getting to be a lot of reposts,i used to never hardly see any, if i did, i would see them very spread apart, now i am starting to see reposts that are only 30-40 pages at from each other, and i'm not blaming anyone, i think the pic mods are becoming overwhelmed, but yet still doing a good job at what they do, as the pictures on this site grow immensely, their jobs get harder, and i even think the ques are fairly slow right now, i know i am only putting in a couple of pics here and there, because of the servers, I could easily que up 10 mb zips atleast 3 to 4 times a week, 1,000 plus pics a week easily, from just one person, which has to be a lot of work for the Mods, but is productive for the future of this site. Obviously the more pictures, and movies you have on this site, the more value occurs, not saying i would like to see it, but the more material this site holds the more valuable a "sponsorship" becomes, so it is basically the future of this site.
As for the Forums, reposts are undoubtedly going to happen, but if left in the current state of repost after repost, then it will only be a matter of time before servers are overloaded and overworked...again. There is no simple solution to this, I for the reason of making this poll, do not want to keep reposting pictures, there is no need, I am not out to gain "points" or a "status" it means nothing to me, I enjoy the site and also enjoy posting pics, trying to create new thread ideas, and themes, which is very challenging anymore. Along with that comes with the attitude of some people that they just throw up pics regardless, I'm not accusing anyone or blaming anyone, as I'm sure I have posted many reposts, but i try not to do it, but as said, it is virtually impossible to search every picture, in the galleries and threads, so you can just go with it and wait for people to inform you of a repost or have a Mod come in and remove them, not alot of options.
As for a solution to reposts, as i see it, and yes i am no one here, there are basically two ways to "slow" down unintentional reposts, one, try to curve the problem by using software/hardware solutions, or two, use more man/woman power to try and curb the repost, which in either instance it is not a 100% fix, but maybe a start, banning people or being harsh on people for reposts, will probably never end in a positive thing, unless obviously they are abusing their posting privileges in a blatant way. Hopefully something good will come in the near future, for as I say I made this Thread in hopes of me and others from posting the same pics over and over, be it on purpose or not.
