How are these typically being done? Just cut and paste the text from the source, or are you all re-writing the stories?

No copy-pasting, it's breaking the copyright-laws 
You have to re-write the story from the source-material yourself!
And preferrably over 10 lines of text, not just something
"this was cool, check it out!!
We won't publish stuff like that.

The reason I ask is that I found a funny story, but it just seems like a lot of trouble for little reward to do a whole re-write. Maybe better just to link to it in the lounge or fun forum.
