Most stuff not accepted

I'm new and uploading a lot of my stuff. When reading the forum, the uploads seem to fit within the rules. However, almost nothing is accepted. How can this be?
When nothing is accepted, I'm not uploading anything anymore..

The single biggest reason for pictures being rejected from the gallery is because its already been posted. The next most common reason is because the picture is professional.
Well more than 75% of the pics submitted are rejected. Not sure how many you've tried to upload, but you do have 6 pictures accepted.

Ah, 75% rejected is a lot. Have uploaded 150 pics now, let's how many are accepted.
It's some good stuff in my opinion (better than a lot of stuff that's actually accepted). But maybe it's professional and I'm not seeing that, don't know.

I get a lot of stuff rejected and I know it isn't reposted as they are images that have been sent to me, and therefore not pro either.
Some may be lesser image quality but I've seen images on here with equal or even less quality than what I've submitted, so not sure what the deal is

Just to give you quick numbers, I checked the last 31 pics you uploaded (there are still more to check but as you are still uploading, it's hard to keep track of what I'm doing).
Out of those 31 pics, 12 fit the rules (4 had a watermark, (very little but still there), 12 had a watermark but that has been cropped from the pic, 1 were completely blurred, 2 were pros).
Then I quickly checked for repost and around 1 pic out of 2 or 3 is already on the site.
Make the math and that's why not a lot of your pics get through the moderation.

Also keep in mind that some time will pass between your uploading and the moderation process as there are other pics to mod before but your queue is still there (130 pics remaining to be moderated).

Hope it helps

In your 3 remaining pics, 1 was too small and the other two were ok (and accepted). Maybe the others that were deleted were too small too (or too blurry for example as quality counts too).

Everyone says that, and its almost never true. Not saying you're lying, but without some sort of proof, its impossible to prove.

Because everybody is honest on the internet and doesn't send fake pictures to people.

Thanks for the explanation! Just to be sure, this was a reply to jwilkinz? Or was it to me?

I thought the upload process actually checked if the pic is already on the site?

Well, not really ^^
But we can quickly spot the reposts anyway after that.

How do you know there was a watermark on a picture if its been cropped off? And how do you know if a photo is a repeat if it was not automatically rejected when it was first uploaded for the queue?
#4815744
When I was a pic mod, I'd often google search the image, you compare your results to the submitted pic and its pretty easy to see if a watermark has been cropped off As for the 2nd question, you just use your memory. Its not 100% foolproof, but mods that have been doing it a long time, they've seen a lot of porn.

I'd like to see the proof that the pics I get rejected are reposts, pro, etc.

not gonna happen. Everyone complains about how long their pics take to be accepted. If a mod had to send proof for every rejected picture; rather than mod a hew hundred pics in a sitting, they'd get less than a hundred done. When I was a pic mod, I'd see a pic that I knew was a repost, but I don't know where the first one in the gallery is located...so you expect them to search the entire gallery to find it? Some pics you can just tell are pro...for no other reason that they look like it....you expect them to scour the internet looking for proof that its pro? Yeah...not gonna happen. Pic mods are chosen because they have proven to be good and knowledgeable members, they've been around the site for a long time, we as members should trust their judgment.

Jwilkinz- as an ex pic mid that's been here for over 5 years, I can understand your frustration. I have seen this said a hundred times but I'll reply to you in particular as well.

The mods do their best. That's the bottom line. You also need to keep in mind these people are not paid, they do this in coordination with the head mods on their own time to try and help the site, and it's usually quite a few hours a week. There are often thousands of pictures in the queue and when "we" or they have to go through so many, that alone should make you realize why it can take so long. That's not including the fact that while every member that uploads pictures thinks it's the first time the pics been in wbw, the fact is a vast majority of uploads don't get approved for one of these main few criteria:

1) repost: those of us that have been through thousands upon thousands of pictures often remember ones that someone that doesn't need to have a reason to remember or hasn't been here as long may notice.
2) pro/watermark: be it cropped, hidden, small etc, or if a pic is a recognized model or just sometimes a gut feeling based on thing like lighting, picture quality, poise, and or a combination of the above.
3)underage: my biggest pet peeve.. Girls have access to Internet and a camera in every phone nowadays, and it seems a lot of people don't know or care what the difference between a mature young adult and an underage girl looks like. Yes, sometimes it can be hard to tell- THEN ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION and don't try to upload
4) quality, blurry, to small picture size, girl to far away to see clearly, terrible lighting, etc. all that explains itself.

All I can say is do your best, and understand there are reasons things don't get accepted, repost probably the most common, and if you still have stuff in the queue to be patient and the will do their best to chip away at it.

Best of luck! And please keep in mind no one is trying to put you down here, we value and appreciate people making an effort to contribute, whether it being uploading pictures or commenting in any of the forums.

Thanks again for the explanation. I have to say it felt a bit frustrating, all these uploads not being accepted, but this really clears things up!

For the watermark, as SP said, google image is a great tool to find out that
As for the reposts, we now have a tool that automatically detects reposts so if a picture is already in the gallery, we'll be able to see it, locate it (and eventually remove other duplicates if the pics was already accepted more than once, which is why some people noticed a few pictures deleted when this system went live).

Thank you, jenngurl123, for your spot-on and timely post.

I just got through modding about 250 pics. About 70% of them were unacceptable for the usual reasons - repost, pro, copyrighted/watermarked, underage, etc. The biggest volume right now is pictures that have been posted elsewhere on copyrighted sites. The proliferation of images on the internet without proper attribution makes this an understandable phenomenon. But it does not make it excusable and I won't be complicit. It also makes modding a terribly frustrating job. It takes about 12 clicks to save and Google and image; accept or reject it. If a large percentage of pictures require this treatment, modding is intolerably slow and tedious.

Reposts are understandable given the huge database on WBW already. However some posters appear never to have browsed WBW at all or they would recognize at least some of them. Mods do get an automated picture search that shows duplicates prior to acceptance or rejection. I wish there were a way to have members similarly pre-screen their uploads. It would be very enlightening. The pre-acceptance duplicate scan has been in place for about a year now, and gradually the database is being de-duped. I have seen some pictures that were posted 14 times! The deletion of these past sins, which picture mods do whenever they see them, also takes time and makes the job more tedious.

There are a few threads active right now about what WBW has become and what it should be. Include upload and acceptance of pictures and movies in your comments and consideration. The vector things are on right now makes me want to retire from being a moderator. This is not meant as a threat, just reality of burn-out on doing a thankless job with an ever-increasing flood of unacceptable material innocently, thoughtlessly, or purposely uploaded.

We could start by publishing the WBW upload rule more clearly and explicitly. This is something I and some other mods have been championing for a while now. As for members, if you Google your own images prior to upload you'll get a much higher percentage accepted. If you find this too much work, then don't complain when unpaid mods do it for you more slowly than you'd like. Uncompensated servitude is not a good long-term business model, and it will not last as more mods refuse to bear it.
