Minimum post for the WTG section?

There have been a lot of requests in the WTG section of posters with almost or no contribution to the site (e.g. like this one http://www.whatboyswant.com/userprofile/532372/).

Can't we add a rule that allows to post a request in the WTG section after reaching a predefined amount of posts in the other subforums or in the babes upload. (example min. 100 posts in the babe forum)

Like with the greylist, only that they could view the WTG section but not post into it...

What do you think?

I think that is an excellent idear and I fully suport it!!

It will give the new members something else to look foward to besides points and ranking and motivate them to be an active part of the forum.

I was surprised to find that Sails didn't create this thread.

...Not so surprised to see him support this thread.

My stance is a no.

What about the new members who actually contribute by creating a few quality threads or support the site financially.

They don't spam the forums, but they help keep this site going.

Enforcing a minimum post limit is going to cause a lot of useless threads and posts as people just keep trying to add posts any way possible. And then people are going to complain about the abundance of bad posts noobs are making just so they can post in the WTG forum.

I think you just need to deal with the occasional leecher request because trying to cut them out is going to hurt a lot more than the few leechers who actually post.

It would be easy for them to reach 100 post or points quickly.... I just want the noobies to contribute and not always ask 100 requests when they register.

Just shows that im not the only one who thinks like this!!

I see your point Bangledesh, but would it be possible to maybe have a trial periode? Just to see if it will be as bad as you fear.
And even if they spam a bit, it would still force them to take a look at the forum and might take a liking to it and become more active...

I used to get annoyed by the leechers although i rarely said so, i'd try and be somewhat polite about it, but after a while it's better to let it go.

I realise that it is just part and parcel of the wtg forum and you just have to accept it and if i want to help out in that section it's something you deal with.

Just try and educate them into posting better, although it is a waste of time most of the time, sometimes you get through and score a result.

WTG was created so that there wouldn't be requests all over the forum. Limiting the ability of newbies to post in WTG will only result in more requests in other forums, it's not going to stop "newbies" from making requests, and it's not going to magically make them be more educated about the rules and posting procedures for WhatBoysWant. Those who are intolerant of members with few post should probably just avoid that forum.

BTW, my first post at WBW was in the WTG forum.

um....

we dont have a limit to post anywhere else on the forum. im HIGHLY amused at the way members complain that we over moderate and then the next day we get requests like this.

sometimes i think the members cant decide what they want :P

we're not putting a restriction on the WTG forum, its what its FOR. if you dont want to answer the threads or youre annoyed by all the "stupid" threads in there, then dont go into that sub forum. is it annoying? yes. are they expecting others to do foot work for them when theyve done none? yes. but no one has to answer them and give them the pics theyre looking for. their threads will die without an answer, and that should be enough for anyone who doesnt think they should get what theyre asking for.

we're an open forum, an open community. requiring that someone have 100 posts before theyre allowed to be in certain forums is just going to give me people the idea that we have a gang mentality. like... youre not ok by us, youre not ONE of us until you post some.

perhaps we can all just exercise a little patience :P

So now we know which moderator to blame for not driving you off.

So is this discusion just over like that?
Is it really that impossible to make some sort of trial periode, to see if any of our fears, of such a limit for the "WTG?" forum, would come true of be proven wrong?

Hasn't this come up like a hundred times before? It's not going to happen. Just ignore them. Or spam them with "I don't know, never seen her before, but she's hot" if you feel like building up your post count. :P

I don't know, never seen her before, but she's hot.

...AMIDOINITRITE?!

I think it's a kinda good idea, but also kinda silly..because if you don't want to help out..just don't, if others want to they can.
