Just curious

I know that there are 8 million videos in the queue and I know that it will take a while to get through them all. My question is this- why are there only 2 moderators who can approve them at this point? Doesn't it seem like it might be a good idea to deputize a few more folks so as to speed the process? Or am I missing something? Just curious- I appreciate what you all are doing, but I think that the questions about the movies will only increase with time.

Well you seem to forget that all the videos have to be reencoded. DivX encoding isn't free either, you have to pay for a Pro copy.

Kanzen- right on. Forgot about the encoding process. Never mind my question then. Only two people being able to work on at a time is plenty.

and what about the pictures?? mine don't get uploaded!! in queue for eternity !:P

i bow to the little yellow star... can't afford that kind of "bling"!

And besides, they need to get there strength back, after previewing and approving these movies.

Hmmm. I didn't realize that was how this website worked before. I'll refrain from asking questions like this in the future.

This isnt the way the website works, but you have to understand some things. The pics and vids are randomly moderated. That means your pics or vids could come up at any time, or not come up - obviously.

There are a lot more pic mods than you think working behind the scenes. For ever one pic that gets accepted, 100 get deleted. (something like that, anyway) It takes up a lot of time. Thousands of pics are uploaded daily (dont quote me on that number) but it is a ton. They wade through the queue fairly quickly given that its volunteer work - just so that you can see new pictures on a daily basis.

Videos are the same way. You now know that each one has to be re-encoded and whatnot. Also, I dont think senja and diz are comfortable letting others mod the vids yet. It will get quicker soon, im sure. Its a new feature. Growing pains, I think.

I just get tired of people saying two things:

"Where are my credits? Movie uploading takes forever"

and

"Why does it take so long for my pics and vids to get through the queue?"

You wont find any other site on the internet that gives you so much for so little (as far as porn is concerned). I just get tired of the griping, you know?

It's like your taking people stuff and dont wont to give back in return. I uploaded 2 vid 20 Meg each that was month ago. there not even a status you can check to see if your file has been placed in que or not. what gives. Dont get me wrong I like WBW but I think there could be room from Improvement. and if you wont this to be a good site you will listen to the user I would create a suggestion form and let people post there ideas. Hey 100 Brains are beater than one. ((Right))

PS. for those that look at my stats I do post pictures in here but have since stoped becuase I dont get created for it.
