Jerks abusing the ratings

so your going to ban a sponsor for giving a bad rating to what may be to them a bad pic?

no, not ban, if they have a habit of skewing the ratings maybe a heart to heart with the admins. Some people are just jerks and I always view the ratings with a grain of salt

It's been an issue for a while. I told Diz that we need to eliminate the whole "1" vote anyways, limit it to 3 or 4 or possibly have a tracker that can see who all has voted 1.

I don't see where the thread starter is addressing the abusers, only the community and perhaps the folks who can do something about it.

I honestly don't get the frustration. What's the point of ratings? If someone thinks something is deserving of a 1, should they not be able to give it a 1? It's anm OPINION, and, as such, really a free speech issue. I don't base my opinions on what someone else has voted . . .

What Atavist was talking about are the people that are voting nothing but ones. Several months ago a mod or longtimer (can't remember which) told me someone they pm'd with admitted to running an automatic voting program that does all the work for them and runs up their vote count quickly. THose are the people that are screwing up the process. They don't care about the pics or movies, they just want a huge vote count so they have bragging rights. What Diz needs to do, at least for the pics, is have a trap in the system, like a pic of a tree or some ugly thing with a special type in field that has to have a word typed in that the voting programs can't do.

Ok, I think we're loosing focus a bit here...

Of course everyone is entitled to vote '1' when they feel a pic / vid deserves it (I do it).
It's a rating from 1 to 10, so you can use the whole width to express your "freedom of speech".
That's not the point here.


The point is that some "jerks" obviously rate all and everything '1' regardless of content (and with the vids probably without having seen them).

This is pretty annoying because it contradicts what the rating is actually about.

So, rating everything '1' is either a joke that's really not funny or those people try to rip off some cheap points from the system.

We need to keep a 1-10 rating system. 1's are a necessary part of the system. For example.

Example 3. I laughed my ass off at this one. I'm not sure why though.

Those are pics that I would rate as a 1. 1's are needed for this reason. There are too many people abusing this though. There are voters who wait for pics to get into the top of the babes and they vote them down.

I had a picture shot down from number 1 to number 10 in less than 5 minuets.

I've noticed this with the top of the babes. I cast the 26th vote on a pic sending it to first place, it had nothing lower than a 6 at the time. Soon after that it developed that unnatural spike of 1 votes HB was referring to. The 1 votes eventually knocked it out of the top 20. This pelting with 1s is quite common in the top 20.

I agree. When a girl I don't like is in the front page I vote 1, to lower the score. When I want to see a girl in the top 5, I vote 10. If this pisses people off then ban me. But 1's are as valid a score as 8 or 4. Otherwise remove it.

Well, you see, the clitoris is the female equivilent of the penis. While the baby is still in the mother, and before the sex of the baby has been determined, the tissue in this area are the same for both the penis and the clitoris.

If a woman has large amounts of testosterone in her body(which can be common, and no, it doesn't make her a man) the clit may grow to sizes as shown in that picture. This may happen at puberty or later in the womans life.

The moderators should be able to see how we vote, that way, if we are being unfair, or they don't agree with us, they could punish us accordingly. In the USA the goverment listens to everyones phone calls in case we are talking with a "bad guy". It sucks to loose the freedom, but we all just look at it like "taking one for the team".

an online game I play has an anti-bot program, everyonce in a while it pops up and asks the player to find a number and click on it. Rather than having the mods monitor the votes(I'm sure they have enough to do) would something like that be possible? Keep the 1-10 system, not lose freedom, and not have a hall monitor

I won't change the way it works.. The script is already protected against external bot like sites... If a picture get rated well it is done by a lot of people, you always have people voting low scores.
