oke, here's the deal.
Both HB and me asked Sphtman to become mod. the reason is (and this is MY PERSONAL OPINION which holds just a bit more ground then yours I'm afraid
) that I think he does make good posts from time to time, he can take a distance from threads if need be AND he's active. also, he doesn't make stupid posts like gasoline has a tendency of doing 
now, eventhough I asked him to be Mod, there's also a BIG BUT (one -t- ppl, only one -t-....): if I think he's doing a lousy job, he will loose it sooner then he gained the crewstatus. it took him several months to gain that status and I will personally rip the status from his dead corpse when I see him abuse it. this goes for all crewmembers.
with that said, I conclude there are no more arguements for or against this. besides, WE made the decision and eventhough WBW is for amateurs, by amateurs and we all respect and love and listen to all of you guy's input, the final decision is made by us and if made wrong, we will hold responsibility for it.
so shut the fuck up, quit whining, live with the decision and see how it turns out. if it turns out bad, we will reverse the decision. but hey, it might even turn out for the better.

In addition: I've not posted anything about this until now, CK already said a lot of things which I was about to say, but: I've got to know Gaso as a reasonable and fun guy who contributes a lot to this site. Diz-X said about the same, btw. If he (or anyone else) has an opinion then he will have the opportunity to do so! This whole Kanzen thing blew out of proportion with so many ppl getting envolved. I also like Kanzen, I know him a little better then most of you and he's not an egocentric maniac. Conclusion before this thread is closed: let everyone state his or her opinion and for God's sake, let's have fun here!!

Well, heres an opinion from a relative newbie. Personally, i like Kanzen, because he makes funny posts. And is able to supress any (that I've seen) "I'm smarter than Kanzen" rants by "Hackers" that is amusing. But, he is also very dedicated to himself, at least in WBW. I also grow tired of him fairly quickly, when he's just kissing ass. Or hitting on the female members. But, I feel that he should be given a chance to prove his worth as a mod. I might disagree with the mods decisions for the promotion of Kanzen, but they're around more than I am, they see things that I dont. They chose him for a reason, I just hope he doesnt let them down.
PS @ Kanzen- so far, as I've read this thread, you've broken the rule about single smiley posts about 5 times. might wanna stop breaking the rules your enforcing?
