How things download here

I do not have a sponsor membership. I know sponsor members get full-sized pics which are usually a lot larger than the ones us peons get. But when I go to a page in the forum, the large pics will start downloading only to be replaced by the small ones once they're done. What gives? Wouldn't it be a lot faster to just have the small ones download by themselves for us peons? And just what am I seeing when I see that happen?

hq's are scaled down so they wont fuck up the layout. if you want to see the full size, just right click and and hit view image in firefox

OHHHHH....i thought he meant when he was clicking on an attached pic....i get it now....yeah, loopy is right, we cant let the pics that are hotlinked affect the size of our forum.....they originally post at the size they are on the page they are hotlinked to, and WBW shrinks them to a size tyhat conforms to our layout
