How do I clear/delete notifications?

My Notifications dropdown extends way past the the "end" of the site page and shows all notifications since my first one received 2 years ago. How do I clear them?

I don't believe you can. Ill ask the big dogs if they know more

Okay just got informed by Diz when the new version comes online the notification system is going to be different and that should clear this up.
