Ghost accounts

Why are there a number of seemingly duplicate ghost accounts going around voting 1 on everything are there no IP filters or email filters preventing multiple accounts,

You can see by their log on times, all these accounts are being used simultaneously.

I can't believe a website that charges a monetary premium to some members is so security lax when it comes to this sort of thing.

Surely there are a number of tools you can use to detect multiple accounts, especially for finding those sad enough to be intent on the destruction of WBW.com by using multiple accounts.

Those accounts are not active anymore but I understand your complaint.
A lot of these accounts (hundreds of them) have been banned in the past to avoid this kind of cheap ratings but it's not a good idea to automatically ban people based on their IP because :
- what about different people in the same house/work/complex that want to go to WBW ?
- an IP is not really representative of a person as it changes and sometimes a same IP can be used by different people at different times
In the end, mistakes would happen and it's better to have a few multiple account (that will end up banned quick enough) rather than people automatically banned without a good reason.

Also, it's possible that in the future Diz will add a script to automatically remove the voting rights from people who only vote 1's.

Account are created before new version, new version has much better security features.

Theres those mar acount I posted about in the Voting 1 topic......but they ran the gammut of numbers....i saw down into the thirties and forties.
