Getting fed up now.

Well last chance salon, I have tried everything but i cannot get an avatar to load up. I have used a old avatar i once had i have tried shrinking a picture i have even tried just using a letter and it does not work. It might be pety but i want my avatar i have been a member for a while now but without my avatar it feels like going out naked on a hot day with no suncream on. HHHEELLPP

I don't understand why you wouldn't be able to load one when everyone else can.

Post a pic of what you want so we can see what you're using.

Try ctrl + F5 see what happens..

check the extension... it wouldn't load one of my *.jpg files because the extension was capitalized... (or was it because it wasn't capitalized... hell I forget)

Make sure it's under 31kb..I know it says 35kb..but for some reason the biggest I've ever got to load was 32kb..

Also, make sure it's no larger than 270 pixels high, by 100 pixels wide.

I didn't post that part because I thought it was pretty obvious...

I had a crazy hard time too, but it eventually worked.

Have you tried hitting the "Update Profile" button once you have chosen your pic?
I'm not trying to be a dick, but sometimes it's something that simple.

are you sure youre using the "save for web" option in photoshop? save as does not save the same sizes as when you do "save for web", the sizes are actually slightly larger than they say if you just do a simple save as.

thats most likely your problem... otherwise couldnt say what it is without seeing your whole step by step process.

i however have never had that problem and can upload sizes all the way up to 35k. :P

I'd say posting what your trying to use would be a good idea, then we can tell you why it's not working. Without knowing what it is you're uploading there's no way of knowing why you can't get it to work.

agreed, by dont upload it by using the 'browse' button, itll put the wbw stamp on it and fuck it up

use an image host like www.tinypic.com or something


do that and ill doctor it up for you

You know how oversized they would be if I didn't save them using the "save for web" option? Come on, Fefe..stop being ridiculous with your insanely failed advice. The problem I've had (I only ever noticed when I made the Ironman animated avy) was that I could only upload it if its "size on disk" was under the limit we have set here for avatars.



I don't know what's up with that, but I always use "save for web"..come on now, seriously.

OK, I've just discovered I'm having the problem as well. I can't seem ti figure out why.

it doesn't meet the requirements, it's 100x270 not 153

glad you got it to work after all these years

I tried uploading one (it was within the 100X270 and under the total kb size) and it wouldn't upload... I changed the extension from *.JPG to *.jpeg and it accepted it.. (i did not otherwise alter the photo)
