Forums DOWN! (not about the crash)

I belong to about 10 various forums, over the past couple of days one by one they are being shut down, some say "due to maintence" others says "closed until further notice" but no matter what they say they are down and I am not sure they are coming back.

Whats with the forums latley, since NTFU has been demanded to shut down in a couple of months after exsisting memberships expire, it seems all forums are closing, whats going on? is WBW itself in any danger?

WBW is more than likely gonna stick around forever. Or atleast til me and a few other non named demigods figure out the bank routing numbers and have the funds directed into an offshore account. That way we can buy cheap beer and expensive hookers...and lots of pizza...lots and lots of pizza.

I hope not and doubt it, WBW is not just a forum but a community as well

wbw is in no danger of been shut down, we work hard in keeping material that can get us in trouble off the site, and unless Diz and Senja are bailing on us by surprise, well be around for a LONG while..

I doubt WBW will be closed for a long time yet. Diz and Senja has too much plans for it.

Actually, I think it has to do with a new record keeping requirement in the US that is very hard for smaller forums to maintain. It's supposed to stop child porn, but all it really does is kill previously existing sites.

Luckily, the WBW servers are loceted in the Netherlands, therefore that requirement cannot be enforced.

Problem fixed Soemthing wrong with the server.

You have to admit, its awfully suspicious that this guy starts this thread and later in the day,

NTFU is a totally different story, I've had contact with Chris Wilson the site owner, and he still believes that their (the proscecution) motives were political. But since this site is operated in and originates from the Netherlands, there's nothing to worry. Could be that a lot of websites are getting scared because the Bush administration filed a lawsuit against Google in order to get them to release personal data of pr0n websites and their owners. Google refused, as they should do.
