file type now png

when I go to save a pic it is in the png format. how can I fix it to go back to jpeg

What do you do to download the pic ?
I tried right clicking -> save picture as... and the picture was in jpg.
I tried the "download button" and it was in jpg too.

When I right-click on that picture you linked to I get the option to save as JPG like so...

(Ironically, my screencap of the save as window is a PNG)

Yep, when I try saving that pic, it also default saves it as a .jpg file.

My guess is that its something in your PC's setting that is saving it as a .png file.

Except it doesn't happen on this website for everyone, so that's weird.

Same thing here. I can choose from .png or .bmp. Used to save in .jpg. Dunno.....

All I'm saying is that I can't replicate your problem.

When I try to right-click and save the file you linked, it saves it as a JPG, not a PNG.

Sorry or whatever.

Perhaps listing your operating system/version and browser/version would help...and maybe we can re-create your problem. Omuh, Eric, and myself are all long term members and are not having your problem, so perhaps with the above info we could either recreate it, or find others that are having the same problem.

Definitely not just his problem. I have come across a few that also save as .png by default, but I can always select jpg as well from the dropdown. They have never tried saving as .png by default before until a few days ago.

- Are you on a computer or a mobile device ?
- What is you operating system ? (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS, linux ?)
- What browser are you using ? (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or something else ?) And what version is it ?
- Finally, for wiguy25, do you also get the option to save as jpg or only png ?

For information, all pictures on the site (even the ones that are uploaded as png) are converted to jpg so that's strange.
