Embed Media

Just wanted to know if it will be possible to embed media directly on the forum instead of hotlinking in the future...

maybe something to think about in the new release??

What would you need to embed?

gb you know this topic allready disscuesd in the past,and it was decied not to embed youtube and etc media players content.

i agree with the mods on this one,just put the link and let the people decide whater they want to watch it or not,cuse embeded players make you feall like you are forced to watch the content rather then choose it.

anyway just my tought,but suite yourself.

^^You feel forced to watch something just beacuse its embedded

I like the idea, just because the video is there doesn't make me feel the need to play it...

One plus would be, you would have the video already on this site, which means people would not have to leave this site

really? where was this? I remember talk that if was going to be added in.


and btw, how does that make you feel forced into watching it? thats the strangest thing I think ive ever heard.

where you can put the youtube video directly on the page and be able to watch it by just pressing play.

Personally, I've been a big advocate of this for a while now.

yeah something like this with UBB codes
for youtube: [youtube]youtube movie url [/youtube] < gets the youtube player
for .flv files: [movie] url .flv[/movie] <- here we use our own player

that's exactly what i thought of.... and like Demonicale said, you don't have to leave the site and can click on the video in the thread if you want to watch it or not... here is an example of the code that has to be embedded..
