Duplicate videos (hellraiser72)

A user one here, hellraiser72, has repeatedly posted duplicate videos within weeks of each repost over the past few months. Other users occasionally post duplicates of other people's vids, but hellraiser72 is the only user I've seen who regularly and repeatedly reposts his own stuff. I've reported this several times but it seems no action is taken.

I am a Premium user and have been around the site for seventeen years. While mass duplication is an annoyance for me, I feel it's unfair to the users who regularly provide original, fresh content for one person to rack up massive amounts of coins posting the same stuff over, and over, and over again.

If this is not an issue the mods want to police, however, I will stop reporting the duplicates and move along.

I understand this problem and you are totally right.

In the picture section it has been much easier to address duplicate issue because of perceptual hashing. A technique we use to filter out duplicate images, even when they are resized.

Problem with videos is this method will not work as it is now, the reasons is that I don't have the budget/time to build such a perceptual hashing system for videos.

As moderators cannot watch every video placed online it has become difficult to filter out. I will have to think of a solution to fix this problem, and get things more in balans.

I think it probably helps if you link to the duplicate when you report, even though when I notice duplicate videos, it's frequently because they are linked together in the same series.

I've been trying to do this when I can, if it's a vid I downloaded and I have the video number handy.
