Downloads

Hi all,
I am a little frustrated. I bought my second sponsor membership the other day. The first one I bought I was really happy with. Unfortunately this one I am having allot of problems downloading movies. I have road runner and typically get extremely fast speeds, I understand the site is undergoing some transformations but the speeds at times are ridiculously slow and most downloads over 50 megs are just stopping at about half If there maybe something I am doing wrong please educate me. What’s the problem and is there going to be a resolution soon. If this is the wrong place to post this my apologies.

Thanks man, Thats about what i thought but i wanted to make sure i wasnt doing anything wrong, Any word on if they are going to throttle down the guests so they dont hog all the bandwith?

or you should try to dload one movie after the other, not a few at same time...

I will try that, I do get a bit greedy sometimes ;-)

Thats a very good question, and trust was pretty much right I'd assume.. at certain times of the day - unfortunately - so many guests (leechers) are downloading pics and vids from the site that it pretty much puts a chokehold on the server and fucks the sponsors out of fast download speeds.

Sometimes it causes the server to timeout and not be accessible at all.

Hey PiRo, I definitely don’t have a problem with the speeds sometimes, the problem is that it isn’t constant and at times like Jack said the whole site will time out or my downloads will stall. We still do get the best content and the site is great but i think the mods need to talk about a plan to fix this issue. The money we pay for the memberships is a drop in the bucket but it seems to be getting worst as the site is getting more popular. I hope one of the mods or maybe Diz will pick up on this and comment.

During the day, there's often 800-1000+ guests.

Guests can't download vids. In my opinion they also shouldn't be able to view the pictures from galleries.

I used to think that, but it's not that hard to create an account(just look at Gaso). Rather than having a shit load of guests, and a few members on at one time, there would be just be a shit load of members leeching.

Really, we need a system where you have to have a certain number of points to view certain galleries.

Maybe every movie should cost at least one credit to download?

I think thats a great idea, Better yet maybee bandwith limits on non-sponsor membership, or bandwith limitation across the boards so one or two people cant suck the life out of the bandwith we have.
