Time to take a break from studying and ask you all this question. Today ive been roaming around some of these topics and a question struck me, is a girls breasts being exposed count as nudity?

I'm not sure on everywhere, but I think UK and maybe Australia, someone can pose nude when they are 16 with parent permission?

But what I was really after was is does topless count as nudity ethically and legally.

In France it counts as nudity, it is allowed on some beaches and forbidden on anothers.
In some cities, mayors made decrees to also forbid men topless. But it's quite rare.

formallly it's forbidden as an "offence towards morality"... but never heard about any problems on a beach or sth like this, only in cities you can for example get arrested (without any fines i guess)

Yes topless is nudity here. I wouldnt want it any othe way. I would not want to get to use to it. It would spoil the excitement.

A better question is when is topless topless? What I mean is when you see some woman with only her nipples covered with bits of tape or paint or something similar, is that topless still? I know it gets around certain laws in the states, but what do you think?

Does topless equal nudity? Don't have time to answer that, I'm searching for all the threads that discuss women accidently flashing their ankles. Wooo!!!! Hoooo!!!! Ankles, I get so hot.

You are right. I few years ago in the UK a girl posed in the "Sunday Sport" (for our american cousins that's a low brow newspaper like the Nat' Enquirer) at 16 and was alowed to because she had parental permission and was not considered nudity.

I wasnt suggesting we start showing topless 16 year olds, I just wanted to know what u guys considered nudity.

Edit: That 16 year old posing in the magazine was also what i was referring to in my opening topic statement.

Topless is partial nudity- nude is nude (i.e. naked)

Doesn't nude imply that the person in question is wearing no clothes at all?
it seems to me that topless isn't nudity, because there are beaches where you may be sunbathing topless, but not naked...

according to the law in Polnad it doesn't matter if you are completly nude or just topless... you're still breaking the law

as for the ethics and so the execution of the law i think that no-one yet got arrested for being topless, it's makes no sense to arrest someone for it

well yes of course nudity means wearing no clothes but i think thats not really the issue.. i think the question has to be looked at from an "in practice" ethical perspective (if that makes sense)... to what extent has toplessness been accepted?

i wouldn't go as far as to say its accepted at beaches (at least from what i've seen) ... i mean the only places it seems to be 'accepted' apart from the net is guys' mags and tabloids...
