Buddylist

Why is it that when you're viewing the buddylist, if you click the persons name the forum thinks you want to send that person a PM and you have to click that tiny questionmark to see the persons info?

I'd prefer it the other way, maybe switch the questionmark to a "PM" or something.

In my opinion it's good as it is now.

well the whole point of the buddylist is to have your friends shown when on so you can send them a PM..

The buddylist is for easy pm'in to buddies.
The link to profile is an extra, not the other way around.

Yes, I understand that, but it seems awkward to me. It would feel more right if it worked the same way as it does all over the rest of wbw, which is click the name to see the profile.

Are you referring to the buddylist in the "Private messages" screen. Then its as simple as that, you click the name of the buddy you want to pm. If they are your buddy, the chances are, you already know enough about them not to have to click their profile

I'm not sure theres such a big deal that you have to move your mouse alllllllllll the way over by 5 mm to see their profile if you like anyway.

Yes, I am referring to the buddylist in the "Private messages" screen, you mean there's ANOTHER buddylist!? If so, please show me that one!

Maybe, just maybe I'm also using the buddylist to check the latest posts of the people I find to be interesting. The people whom I might not know personally, but whom I think post interesting threads. Be that threads with nice pics or fun/interesting/valuable opinions.

Yes, it is a big deal since it's the opposite of how this entire website is built, except in that particular place. I don't know about you, but I tend to be rather fast when I'm viewing a website I'm familiar with, which means that sometimes I just (out of habit from the rest of the site) click the particular persons nickname instead of the tiny questionmark which you incorrectly place 5mm from the name. I'd say that it's somewhere between 13-30mm, depending on the length of the person´s nickname and the resolution of the screen you're viewing the site on.

No, on a more serious note though, I wouldn't have mentioned it if I didn't think it was a problem, no matter how big, I just wanted to air the question to see if there was an explanation.

You think I'm being sarcastic? Well, I am. Not about the initial question, which was intended to be a serious and honest question. I will retire from this subjecte and accept that noone else considers it a problem.


EDIT: Oh, and I do know about the SEARCH function, so don't even go there..

Just make a habit of klicking on the questionmark on that particular part of the site and you're all set.

Oh, yes, btw how many members does this site regularly cater to?

If I'm the ONLY one that is questioning the function of the buddylist, I'd be surprised.

This is'nt intended to be a rant about this site being useless or anything, it was a humble suggestion and a question.
