thats weird, wbw is a really popular site, a lot of traffic, i wonder what the problem is

It is not a failed business plan, just not a completed one. It will most likely come for non sponsors in the future.

We are working on advertising for future, to get some extra money in to let a lot of stuff free.. We are not thinking about flashy and anoying banners more google ads alike.

This site could be absolutely raking in money hand over fist. The fact that it isn't and that we have to put up with the "too many connection" errors that were abundant yesterday is just a reminder of how poorly these money-making possibilities are being expolited.

In one way you are right, the search is an disaster.. I know I am the only one who is working on getting the server up and running, with almost no time to fix things. I am really starting to hate what I am doing, and even thinking about quiting. I am getting really fat up with all the damn breakdowns and server problems. Last thing I am going todo is get an expert in to look at our problems and fix this serious issues up, if that doesn't work I think I will quit with this website and look for a normal day job.

Why don't you take a vacation? Go on holiday for a weekend or so. Then start fresh.

Very simple answer, I can't! I even don't dare to go on an vacation because senja knows shit about servers and maintaince. I have worked for 3 years long day and night on wbw and trying to fix the performance issues. It costs me everytime a lot of reading and headaches, and still shit ain't working like it supposed too. What the fuck dude?

You have a membership base of over 350,000 people, with probably hundreds of thousands of hits a day. You have a subscription base of hundreds, if not thousands, of people who are willing to pay for content here, as evidenced by all the sponsor members. These are very good numbers, and capable of bringing you lots of money if you are able to maximize your profits.

You've done tons of good work on your own, and considering that you're doing it alone, with, what seems like, little formal training and know-how with regard to alot of this stuff you desereve a huge pat on the back.

My suggestion is, don't get fed up and take your ball and go home. Hire a professional webmaster/designer. One of the first things they will suggest to you is generating advertising revenue, which has the possiblitiy of being huge. Additionally I would suggest perhaps a WBW store, in which people can buy clothing (which ends up as advertising for your site that you get paid for), videos, compilations of pics, and assorted other trinkets. A logo would help substancially, as you could put that all over your merchandise. Anyway, you've got a ton of options, and I really think you have something very good here, that you just have to step back and look at it objectively.


Look at it this way:

It's like you're a farmer who's cornfields are sitting on a massive oil field, and thinking of selling your farm because your corn won't grow.




Hell, if I had the money, I'd offer you substancial amount for the site and then take it in that direction, and make myself a ton of money. But I'm poor, so that's not an option.

I think you've done a great job up (with only a couple exceptions) until now, and throwing it away because you're frustrated would be a huge waste.

ehm we have a huge and strong community here, some members here have their own website or blogs or whatever. if we all really like this site and enjoy it even for free (as i do)

why not throw all our powers together and help diz with thses fucking servers? If we are a community thrown together from all parts of the world, why cant we stand together instead of fucking wining all day long about broken search and stuff like that???

If i had only little knowledge about servers or sql-scripting i would offer my help! If there are any other things to do, let me know and i see what i can do for you

Seriously though, I've tried to get additional memberships her(paid ones, not freeloading spoofs) but you can only have one at a time. If there was a fix for this, I'd get one or two more.

If money is the issue I'd gladly buy a sponsor membership again.
