why in the world is there no search function for this forum. this forum is totally kick ass, but it would be perfect with a search button. hopefully it has one and im just stupid, if so, plz tell me where it is, im havin a real hard time finding stuff. thanks all.

Good idea , I shall ask Diz about it. It's a very big forum and a lot of pictures. A search function is a good option. We shall discuss it.

HalaGak: You are totaly right.. Only had some problems with created the queries.. it cosumed so much processor power that I left it.. I will talk to a friend of my who is very good in SQL if he could help me out to optimise the text search stuff..

in many forums (overclockers specifically) you can search any way you want, by user, buy key words, anything. thanks for taking it into concideration, i think it would drastically help this already fine message board.

Helagak: I will work on it! I first have to fix the high loads lately,.. And kick my friend who keeps the server uptodate that he would install mysql 4.0 that will improve performace dramaticly!

lol mysql sucks sometimes, the older ones i meen, i had a lot of problems with them, never tryed the new one. maybe it rocks maybe it still sucks :s

Have you thought about postgreSQL?

I heard it can handle bigger loads much more efficiently than MySQL...

wit_mht: postgreSQL is much slower then mysql.. and takes more loads.. :P I have seen some benchmarks between those sql databases.. the fastest was MS SQL i think..

A nice thing about MySQL 4 is that they introduced query caching, this will boost performance up to 200%..
