A new law, that well could reuin this place. Whats going to happen?

In a nut shell I found some information on line about this new law....

What is 18 USC 2257? [1]
18 USC 2257 and CFR 75 are the federal law requirements of record keeping of the proof of age of models and required notices on products including content. A compliance set, including notice and record keeping requirements (Found the information here after doing google search http://www.adultchamber.com/members/legal-usc18.htm )

What If I Have the Content, But Cannot Comply?

If you have content and do not have proof of the model's age and the necessary records required by 18 USC 2257, which also covers content created abroad in your possession, you are assuming full risk of violation of the statute and possible child pornography charges.

So what do you guys think? Is this place safe or will it be lost forever as a few other sites I am noticing are dropping off.

You know what's the good thing in all this?

This site is Dutch!
As in, does not have to comply with the 18 USC 2257 because it only binds American sites.

That's coz they're so used to seeing .com.nl at the end of all the Nederlander porno sites!

I think it's the language that cause the mistakes most times.

Somehow they assume that if it's in english (and especially porn), it's american.

It doesn't need too much intelligence to figure it out.

This is nothing. Same law has existed pretty much in the same form since the Traci Lords fiasco in the 80's. If WBW was an american based site they could conceivably run into issues but in reality the stuff on WBW is tame compared to stuff still available from some American based sites. The only impact of this law will be that American amatuer sites will probably be shuffled off to other countires for hosting and admin.

I will agree that we have a lot of stupid laws regarding porn but I would also point out that a lot of other countries have whole categories of speech that can get you thrown in jail. Try denying the Holocaust in Germany.

It is funny how in the US you can print an article or book about any subject and it is pretty much covered as free speech but when you get to pictures it becomes a whole different story, but in other countries the book may lead to jail time but pics are allowed of just about anything.

I think there has been a lot of crap written about this law that isn't true. The article that you linked to was written by a lawyer and they normally only write articles in order to try to drum up business for themselves. The basic synopsis was to get your porn for American based sites from reliable sources. No big deal.

There are some topics about this rule of american law already on this site. I think it's some political fight from people who are right wing christians. I think it's not fair cause the law was approved as a law against childporn and not for pornsites. In my opinion the law is abused to kick out the porn industry and frustrate the people who work in it.

I speak to a lot of people on adult forums and most of the people who work in this industry are very hard working people who wanna earn some money. As i said before, you are not getting ritch from a porn website and it's more a hobby then a living.

Dizx and i started this site out of fun. We wanna have a good time and give people pleasure to be here. That's still our goal to entertain people and having a good time.

I really think that american politicians want to ban porn from the net and this is just the first step. What i think and feel is that it's against everything america stands for. Like your an individual and i decide what i'm going to do with my life. Nobody can force me to think or do whatever other people can do.

I think if you don't wanna watch porn don't come here. If you want please look and enjoy. I think that's the best freedom we can ever find but some people think they can decide for other people what's the best for them and i totally disagree with those people.

I'm not a lawyer nor am I schooled on the intricacies of this statute, but to say it does not apply to this site because it is "Dutch" may not be true. This site accepts sponsorship money from U.S. residents, which could make it subject to U.S. laws.

Just something to think about. Better safe than sorry!

in the same way that US copyright law does not apply to allofmp3.com
WBW is not held liable to 2257
US lawyers would try... but they would not win

the US needs to learn that they do not control the internet

I don't think it works that way.
The site is international, and based and run from another country than us.
We do also provide serices to the US, as we do to the whole world.
But we are not aiming our service to the US-market, we do not advertise there or anything, so they can hardly get any law to bind us since we only "exists".

And no, I'm not a lawyer either. I just know a thing or two from Finnish laws and this is based on those laws I'm familiar with. I can be talking pure BS here
