What does it mean when an image is rejected as being duplicate please? I've had several recently and I know that I haven't uploaded them twice and if the image were already on the database it would be refused at upload.

Not all duplicates are refused at upload, as some of the images can be cropped so they are different dimensions etc.

A couple of ways in which a duplicate can be found are:

1. A mod recognises an image that has already been accepted recently so rejects the upload (prior to acceptance).

or

2. Another user spots a duplicate and reports it, so one of the images will be deleted (after acceptance).

An example of #2 - you upload a photo showing 1 woman standing on the beach. The system won't necessarily flag it as a duplicate if the same image/dimensions aren't found. But another user could see that it's actually a zoomed-in part of a larger image, showing 3 women standing on the beach (an image that they had uploaded 6 months previous). So they report it and a mod deletes it.

Great work with cleaning up the mess and managing it!

Ah yes, you are correct. I forgot that the duplicates that are deleted post-acceptance aren't marked as such, so darkstar001 is referring to those that moderators have deleted themselves. Would be good to be able to select a reason for post-acceptance deletions so that the uploader knows why.

"Celeb" seems pretty self-explanatory but it seems the definition of "Model" has changed dramatically in recent weeks, or perhaps it is not being consistently applied.

This is usually applied when a reverse image search shows the name of the woman in the image, and links to professional shoots.
Some mods reject Instagram celebs/models/influencers who have huge numbers of followers & regularly promote goods in their images.

If you have some that have been rejected recently and you’re not sure why, send me a PM and I’ll look into them for you.

Thanks for the quick answer and clear definition --- I'll add reverse image searching as a pre-filter.

Good luck pre prefiltering. I think you'll just get even more frustrated because you'll find that your pics still get rejected. I don't know what changed around here but lately no matter what I do, 80% of my pics are celeb model and just watch my score drop more and more every time I attempt to contribute. Which leads to less and less of a queue to upload onto. Then to top it off, you find the same girl uploaded by someone else a week later. and even worse, the same exact picture.

Mods should release that amazing reverse image search tool, google might be interested too. Even the pictures with no face or (for example) distinctive tattoos are identified as celeb/model. If there are particular uploads of yours that are rejected and you don’t understand why, send me a message and I’ll happily look into it for you. I’ve done this for many members recently and hopefully it helps them to understand the process from our side.

Contrary to a few members beliefs, the mods aren’t here to make uploading as difficult as possible. We accept a ton more image than we reject, but if we’re told to reject a certain type of image then that’s what we do.

Mistakes can be made certainly, but when it comes to the celeb/model category it normally comes down to those that have their images on paid-for sites like OnlyFans - we can’t accept them. So even if a girl doesn’t have her face in the image, if it’s linked to an OnlyFans user via a reverse image search, it’s rejected.

We tend to use Google & Yandex when it comes to reverse image searching. And they don’t need to have a face for this to work.

Also, you have a 75% success rate with your uploads, which is one of the highest I’ve seen for a while.

Oh damn, I was lookin for score, not %. Sorry. My score went from 75 to 64 in two days. But with this rate, also % will drop very soon.

I use Google reverse search and usually find about 60% plus are Onlyfans, manyvid, etc. models. Yes, they are considered pro by the law, because they sell their own content and they own the copyrights to it. <<<< ask a lawyer
Also Reverse image searches doesn't just search for the person. It matches everything in the photo to get it's results, mainly because Google looking for something to sell to you...
With that said, I don't do a quick search. If there are any search results the first ones I look at are Redditt. Most E-thots use Redditt or Twitter to advertise their "line of products/services".
It's fairly simple, but time consuming. Then I move on to see if it's been altered or not. (read below)
This is direct from ETV and Fee years ago.
"A camera can only take a pic with an even numbered resolution. It has to do with how computers process the information and the numbers have to be even numbers, like PC memory for example, a computer requires 2 banks of 128k, 256k etc. All of which are even numbers. In short a picture with an odd resolution is clearly altered. also know as the Dimensions of the pic.
Disclaimer:
I am not accusing that any user of altering photos, but someone did at some point, and to err on the side of caution it's rejected for being altered.
Hopefully this will clear some things up.
Also anything that is a screen shot should be deleted. If you can't download it, don't upload it here, that's copyright issues.

I try to upload, but a majority mine also get marked as celebrity as well. They are not. They are taken by me. I don’t pull random images from the web, I only upload original content that I take. Yes, sometimes a pic of mine will show up on a reverse search. But some that were just rejected are brand new. So I don’t see how they are anywhere else. It’s very frustrating.

Happy to look into this for you. You’ve only had 16 images rejected, but I will look at them again for you as if they’re original photos then in theory they should be accepted.

Is there any update on the current lead time for uploaded photos?

Rules seems to be mostly random, or rejects depends who happens to moderate the pictures at that very moment. Firereign has explaned some of it few post above this.
