Just testing the waters...

So... I have been a fairly long time lurker, and wanted to start contributing some more here... Just thought I would start with a few groupings of pictures like these...

Can someone tell me how to create a post with full sized images, rather than thumbnails? I know (as a long time lurker, that is) that it is always nicer to see those rather than to have to open the images individually... Can it be done from images stored on the hard drive, or do they need to be hotlinked from an image hosting site?
