Sorry, but it's not a Daimler, the typical star is missing here. It is an Audi/Horch V8 of the late 20s / early 30s, recognizable by the V8 front of the radiator. In the later versions the V8 logo was replaced by the 4 Audi circles; but could also be a Stoewer.

IT IS a 1939 Daimler DB with Mulliner body, check the fluting of the grill top, a Daimler trademark. This car was bought by Kevin Cerasale in 1978 for £35. It was chopped,Daimler V8 added and £3000 spent building one of the best known custom cars in England and was featured in Custom Car magazine. Sadly Kevin passed away earlier this year.
