This has been asked a number of times, and never really answered by 'management'...so what is the system that is applied when someone submits content to convert to credits? Why are some content submissions 'free' and others not? And recently, why have the credit requirements gone up so drastically.

From what I recall, for pics it's 1 credit to unlock one pic.
For video, the credit cost depends on the duration of the video and very short ones are free. I don't have the specific numbers in mind though.

I was talking more about the video submissions. There has be a lot of talk it is about the length of video, but unless folks are a bad at math that isn't it. It also doesn't answer the questions why some are free when submitted and some aren't? And why recently the 'cost' of videos has gone up quite significantly?

I don't know that the cost has gone up at all, at least not recently. You can view a video that is under 30 seconds without having to use credits. If the video is over 30 seconds long, it's 2 credits per 30 seconds, so 3 credits if the video is 45 seconds long, 4 credits if it's a minute, etc.

It has. You are wrong. There still is >no< official page, declared system, et cetera from 'management' on how this is handled outside of a number of moderators that loosely manage the process. How do we get Diz or the moderators to go on record? Not so much to ask, especially for folks that have uploaded a lot for a site that is mainly supported by the free uploads...

I guess we can agree to disagree. When I pull up videos, that's how many credits are needed - under 30 seconds is free, 4 credits/minute for videos 30 seconds or longer, and the cost is prorated when vids aren't exactly 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc. It's been like that for a long time for me.

Actually, Diz made the change for video cost a while ago, which you can see here: https://whatboyswant.com/forums/general/feedback/whatboyswant-changelog-5-168231. Even if the credit change happened when post #1 was last edited, that was nearly two years ago.

I will be working on a page with all the credit stuff written out, and not in the forums.. I am currently working on revamping the moderation system + reporting system.
