- IMAGE QUEUE UPDATE -

As there are a lot of threads re: the time it takes for images to be moderated and possibly accepted onto the site, I thought it might be useful to start a thread that the mods can update with the latest queue size and how many images have been moderated in the last 7 days.

This will only be accurate up to the date of the post, but I will aim to update this every now and then (other mods can do so too if they wish) so you can see the amount of images that are being processed by only a handful of moderators. Hopefully this will help with your patience when it seems like your images are stuck in the queue for an eternity - we are trying to get through the queue as quickly as possible, and we will get to yours eventually.

Just a couple of things for you guys. #1 Why don't you shut down the queue for two days and get caught up? I don't think it will kill anyone to wait a couple of days to upload more pics. #2 Your great software that identifies duplicates must be getting tired. I've seen a number of reposts lately so its either the software, or certain individuals still have favored status. Probably the latter since you kicked so many of mine back as duplicates, yet they'd get posted by someone else within a week or two.

Shutting the queue wouldn't really help with anything - the same amount of pictures would get moderated and then the site would have less of a pipeline. The oldest pictures in the queue are moderated first, so the queue growing doesn't mean your images are less likely to be processed. The idea of this thread is just to give people an idea of how many images are in the queue currently, so they can see how many need to be moderated before we get to the ones they've just uploaded.


Re: your other point - once again, nobody has "favoured status", other than your upload score (based on quality of previous uploads). It's tricky to dig out ALL of the duplicates, especially if people edit the image slightly. If you see any duplicates then just report them and they will be removed.
