Where can you find a free copy of winzip? Have looked around, for some older versions, still can't seem to find a free version. Don't really want to d/l from frostwire etc. Would appreciate any help on this, Thanks

I wouldn't bother with winzip, it's not what it used to me, your better off with winrar, it's free and does the same thing + more

I vote with cyrx666, try winrar or 7zip both opensource.
Thou if you still want it, this site seems to let you download old versions. Ive not tried it thou. http://www.oldversion.com/WinZip.html
edited: meant 7zip but typed 7win - not having a good day

I use 7zip and it's basically the same thing as winrar was.

Yes I am. I have it and really don't know what it's for.

I recommend the same as the aforementioned posts. Either are good choices, really they do the same job and have pretty similar features. Main difference is GUI and context menus.
Personally, I prefer WinRAR.

WinRar loses for me just because they keep asking me to register or something, since it's apparently just a fully working, never-expiring trial version.
But I hate those pop-up warnings, so I got rid of it.
