Just curious if anyone has successfully used this program. I'm struggling to get it to work sadly. Each time I start it I get an error that says Hardware assisted virtualization is disabled in my BIOS and to shut down the computer and enable it. Well... it is enabled in my BIOS and no combination of restarting, enabling, disabling, and complete shut downs has gotten it to work. I've run the HAV detection tool from microsoft and it simply tells me to go turn it on. If anyone can shed a little light on this for me I would greatly appreciate it!

Did you actually download and install all the programs from MS.com? You actually have to download both the Windows XP Mode and also the XP Virtual Machine from MS because they don't come prepackaged with 7.

Yes I downloaded all 3 files from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and I speak English, as were the options I selected.

Hmm... interesting. I'm getting a new set of error messages after installing patch KB977206. I'm going to work through them and drop an update but I might have just solved my problem.

I played with it a little when 7 was sill in RC. It seemed to work ok, but lagged a little here and there.

I didn't have a problem with it when I used it at all like what you're having. From what I remember, you have a pretty similar processor to what I have in my gaming rig. Phenom X4, correct? Is it the Phenom II series or the original Phenom? I'm assuming you have a fairly similar BIOS to what I have, so I will check mine out and see where the option to enable it is. I think there are two similar options, maybe you have one of them off or something.

Well that patch seemed to have fixed it. Its odd that it didn't show up in the normal windows updates or as part of what should be downloaded but everything seems to be working now.
