well... let's be realistic for a second. real madrid are (or were up until recently) arguably the biggest/best club in the world. how much money did they spend on players? arsenal won the premiership last year, did they get all their personnel for free? manchester united have won the most titles in the last 10 years or so, did they pick up their players on free transfers? rangers and celtic have an incredibly annoying, but definite, stronghold on the scottish premier league. this is because they have much more money at their disposal than the rest of the teams in scotland (well, hopefuly this will soon change with hearts ). anyway the point im making is... in essence, every team buys success. they need money to buy the best players and to pay their wages. obviously money doesn't guarantee success, but it goes an awfully long way to doing so. it just seems a lot worse because of the vast amounts of cash chelsea have. doesn't make it any different essentially. well, that's my opinion anyway.

well actuqally man u hav had most of the best players come up from there youth, a few are beckham, scholes and giggsy + many more!

if man u or arsenal or even any other team had the chance to blow money like the chelsky then they would but money dont always win things real madrid have brought players every year but dont always wint the league

yeah i mentioned that. and i know that they have developed a good few players from their youth team but they've still spent money on others... you know the point i'm making anyway.

Man U are one of the richest teams in the world but they got that way because of their success on the pitch and, this is a risky one, the worldwide sympathy and recognition they got as a result of the Munich air disaster and the way they recovered from it. Chelsea on the other hand are a third rate team with about as much history as the London Eye and a Russian sugar daddy.

and about rich...

Reds Top Football's Rich Lists
A financial report released today concludes that Manchester United is the richest club in the world - for the eighth successive season. The Deloitte report is based on income for anyone wondering why Roman Abramovich's deep pockets have failed to propel Chelsea into top spot. But the London club, the fourth richest in the world behind United, Real Madrid and AC Milan, are said to be closing the gap. Top six based on income for 2003/04: 1. United (£171.5m) 2. Real Madrid (£156.3m) 3. AC Milan (£147.2m) 4. Chelsea (£143.7m) 5. Juventus (£142.4m) 6. Arsenal (£115m).

this one is sooo true...

Roy Keane has issued an ironic plea to raise the awareness of diving in English football - bring in anti-diving wristbands. Footballers have been seen wearing yellow, blue and now black & white wristbands to raise awareness of charities and social issues. But, having seen Ashley Cole's melodramtic fall at Highbury recently, the Irishman has voiced his opinion on diving in the Premiership. "I wasn't quite sure what he [Cole] was up to. If I'd known I might have reacted differently," he said. "Before the Arsenal game there was all this stuff about anti-racism and anti-bullying. It would be a good idea to wear wristbands for anti-diving. It's not just foreign players, it's crept into the Premiership and seems to be getting worse."

yeah i remember that dive from ashley cole... cheating bastard.

Don't get me started on diving!! Oh I hate it!

Coming from a hockey upbringing I just don't understand it... When ever I see these pussies writhing all over the pitch I think "for godsake be a man"

In hockey if a 245lb gorilla slams you into the boards and your not seriously hurt and don't get up and get back into the play your ass is going to get kicked by your team mates in the locker room.

I'm totally behind Keanos suggestion.

Im a well born Liverpool Fan,and that will never change,if they are doing well,or doing bad or worse/better.
But looking at my own teams injury list at this time, and the way up to the leader, doesnt make me think that they have ANY chance what so ever,to win it. Im all positive, but just realistic at this time.
A third or fourth place would be realistic for them,if they can get themselfs together the rest of the season.
But who i hope wins,if i have to choose? Well,i voted Chelsea. I dont have all respect for teams who buy themselfs a whole new team (or 2),but im proud of LFC,for matching Theese "money giants" all the way with local Scousers, while i where growing up. And they`ll be stronger next year!

You`ll Never Walk Alone!!
