Every day of my two years of work there my life was in danger for pay that didn't amount to what it was worth. I gave psychotropic medication injections to prostitutes with schizophrenia to keep them stable in the community, picked up a drunk homeless guy numerous times until the one time he was dead and we had to have a makeshift funeral for him and no one came. I talked to a paranoid lady through her door for months until she let me in and gave me iced tea that tasted like roach spray as I watched roaches climb up the walls and chose not to ask her why she was wearing underwear on her head. I won't bore you with the rest but every day was a reminder of my dumb decision.

I am grateful for every dumb decision I have made because of the numerous life experiences I have gained.

Dear Ms. Friend,

That is quite a remarkable thing to be able to say about life, not to mention your amazing experience !! That alone marks you as quite an exceptional person. Welcome to the site.

Reminds me of the movie American Beauty (think that was the name). If you are firm to this day re your decision, it's not stupid.

I forgot something else I once did that was idiotic....

When I was 14 I got my hands on a slingshot with a folding out armrest, I thought it was so cool.

I was impressing some younger cousins, as you do when your 14, and thought it'd be a good idea to fire a kitchen knife, into a dartboard.

Needless to say, it didn't hit said dartboard, but dug into my right hand instead.

Hurt like hell! Told my mom, who told my dad, who laughed at me for being so stupid, and then threw my slingshot away.

Back in High School I had this huge crush on this girl name Jenny. But I was very shy. 4yrs and I didn't have the courage to go up to her and say hi. She was good friends with my sister and she told my sister that I was cute and why I don't approach her. Everytime we walked passed the hallway she would give me this look like "here take me" and I would freeze up and walk away. Then when I got home I would knock myself over the head.

She had a fantastic round piece of ass that it was to die for.

Well turns out that in 12th grade I finally build up some courage...

so I wrote her a letter. HUGE MISTAKE.

I'm not embarrassed to admit this and post it here because it's dumb shit people make in their life but this is exactly what I wrote on the letter:

Dear Jenny

You are so beautiful! I cannot stop thinking about you. I'm sorry that I have not said anything to you but I really like you and I wish I could smell your panties.

The next day after graduation she came up to me and told me that was a stupid thing I wrote on the letter and that she has a boyfriend.

Wow...That's a great recollection that brings back similar awkward high school memories...in soooo many ways as an "ass man" (I knew a lot of the gals by them walking away down the hall) but wasn't a player but just a virgin...just liked hanging with the gals intensely, something that resulted in my first ever kiss.

Beth H. was a senior and I junior, in science class (I was nerdy and still am, as was she but much more mature) and I had the hugest stupid crush on her. She knew it but I never said anything, I felt like a dope, just followed her around like a stupid slobbering puppy dog. We got along great socially and it was never a real sexual thing but just crushing magnetism on my part. After the senior graduation assembly the departing students were milling about and I crossed paths with Beth in the hall...she came up and gave me the most intense, long on-the-lips kiss that sent me reeling. She said something I don't remember as my brain was scrambled and away she went.

I was working PT in the library a year or so later and saw Beth browsing the stacks. Word was she'd gotten married but I didn't approach her. Just as well; that first kiss is burned into my brain like it was yesterday.

Wow that's some kiss she gave you. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah I was a high school nerd too. Damn I had some issues in high school.
