I've never been much for wanting stuff for Christmas, if I want something I just go get it, I leave this holiday for my kids

Hoping to get some new Bosch tools and maybe a nice bottle of Rum.

Would love to have a new car under the tree. It's getting close to time to replace my wife's car. But from a reasonable perspective, a new videocamera would be nice.

Santa had to be paid from my bank account this year (after wife left...) so new widescreen monitor is hopefully going to be under my tree - if the local idiots dont break in and steal it........ realistically - I don't care as long as my kids have a good time.

I hear ya. We have decided this year with lay-off's hitting so close, economy etc., to focus on the kids. My son is easy as he loves cars, Nerf guns and Wii games. My daughter is a wee tad more difficult. I think she will get S/W for her new MacBook and maybe speakers for her car.

We decided to get our boys an X-Box360, and a TV to go with it to set them up a game room in the basement, and since thats a ton of money right there, me and the woman decided we wouldn't get each other anything over 10 bucks

That is a chunk of change. X-Boxes are what ~$300 now?

On a side note: I miss having a basement. Had one as a kid growing up in midwest. Earth shifts too much to have a basement in NorCal.

I know how you feel with the finacial situation as it is right now - 3 kids all wanting the latest and best.... wii, xbox etc. On their own not too bad but x3 - starts to get a little steep. Kept evilbay happy thinning out some of my toys to pay for it. Never knew I had so much junk

Kind of have a basement - 3 storey house with junk room on bottom floor - mostly filled with my junk. More ebay fodder I guess.

Spent a total of $453.00 for the game system, another controller and a couple extra games, then the TV will probably set me back another 300

Ya, I have a half basement, I live in a split level. The basement is great for keeping the kids outta your hair

Used to use it as a workshop - then it became a play room - since then its turned into a junk room and next??? I would ask for suggestions but I think I might be tempting fate

Guess all up we (ex and myself) have spent about a grand total on the 3 of them but thats it - no more - cant do it. Found a few local game shops doing 3 for 2 offers on new titles for the game systems - so that was a bonus
