When I used to play acoustic shows of mainly covers, some that I played and had a good response to were:
Seven Mary Three - Cumbersome
Tool - Sober
Nickelback - Leader of Men
Good Charlotte - Seasons (I hate Good Charlotte, but the song works well)
Live - Turn My Head
Toadies - Possum Kingdom
Lionel Richie - Hello (People LOVED it)
Martina McBride - Valentine (only because I can sing it. If you can't, don't play it. It's a very "chick" sounding song, but the comedic value of a 300 pound man singing like Martina McBride gets the crowd all fired up)
Dave Matthews Band - Crash Into Me
Staind - Outside
Stone Temple Pilots - Creep
Alice in Chains - Got Me Wrong
Richie Valens - La Bamba (just make up words, people love this shit)
Roy Orbison - Pretty Woman
Full Devil Jacket - Where Did You Go?
James Taylor - You Can Close Your Eyes
Flaw - Only The Strong
Beatles - Let It Be
Ben Folds Five - Air (it's fun to try to make a piano song work on a guitar... it worked with Martina McBride's Valentine so I tried it with this... worked alright, though few people knew the song)
Better Than Ezra - At the Stars
Bone Thugs N Harmony - Tha Crossroads (This isn't for everyone. I started it as a joke, but everyone actually loved it. I usually had people come up and sing/rap it with me and they always had a great time)
Cat Stevens - Wild World
Chevelle - The Red
Chris Cornell - Sunshower
Collective Soul - December
Cracker - Low
Extreme - More Than Words
Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Fefe Dobson - Bye Bye Boyfriend (with the words changed to be singing to a girlfriend instead)
Flaw - My Letter
Fuel - Shimmer
Fuel - Sunburn
Garth Brooks - The Thunder Rolls
Goo Goo Dolls - Slide
Green Day - Time of Your Life
GWAR - Dirty, Filthy (this is the essence of comedy... I loved it, though no one got it at all...)
Hall & Oates - Sara Smile (it's insane how many girls LOVE this song)
Hoobastank - Running Away
Johnny Cash - Rusty Cage
Kenny Wayne Shepard - Blue On Black
Memento - Beginnings (in my opinion, one of the best songs ever written)
Nixons - Sister
Pearl Jam - Better Man (I could never play it correctly while singing it, so I half-assed it. Oh well, people sing along)
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss
Phish - Farmhouse
Red Hot Chili Peppers - I Could Have Lied
Red Hot Chili Peppers - My Friends
Rodney Crowell - I Wish It Would Rain (a fantastic song, albeit a country tune)
Silverchair - Tomorrow
Silverchair - Shade (always got a huge response for this one)
Staind - Epiphany
The Flys - Got You Where I Want You
Third Eye Blind - How's It Gonna Be
Tonic - If You Could Only See
Verve Pipe - The Freshman
There were others, but after a once-over of the songs I have on my laptop, these are the ones I used to play. Some went over better than others, but I didn't put any on this list that didn't work at all. I'm interested in hearing how well your shows go. I used to have a great time and made a decent amount of money, but my first love is playing bass and I got back into a band and by the time I got back into playing acoustic shows by myself, I was playing all my own stuff. You can hear some of it from time to time on my MySpace page

Good luck.
