since yesterday was valentines day and my girl surprised me with a candlelight dinner i really didnt expect, i feel that i have to surprise her as well. i´m searching for some good ideas now, so i was wondering what you guys did or plan to do to surprise your ladies and to show them your love?

Take her on a nice weekend away to one of the nice Pensions around Germany. Just tell her to pack a bag for the weekend and start driving. Don't tell her where you're going and let her find out when you arrive at the destination.

seriously, thats a good idea. i also thought about that, but it could get pretty expensive. gotta save some cash first

well you could surprise her by having the house all cleaned before she gets home,
order take out, get a bottle of champagne...some strawberries and cream, and create a mood
for while you eat (music etc)

dont let her clean up afterwards (hence the take out )

then maybe go for a drive....and 'park' somewhere

Do they still have the Schoenes Wochenende Ticket? You could always do the train too? i don't know where you live, but sometimes it is cheaper im Osten. Quedlinburg is beautiful and anywhere on the Nord See. If you are near Bayern, try a bike tour on the Donau. My girl and i had an awesome tour between Regensburg and Passau. Many cheap Pensions on the way. Guess you need to wait a while for bike weather though.

i was actually planing to go to passau once, i heard its a beautyful city... not sure about the weekend ticket, i use my students card all the time. but we live in the "ruhrpott", in the west. its near the dutch border, and its not that beautyful here, rather dirty industrial area. maybe in summer i will get my scooter repaired and we could make a scooter tour. she´s not into camping, so i guess some nice and cheap pensions would be great. gotta have a look... thx for your advice

Well, it's a bit late, but for the holiday this year I gave my wife the "14 days of Valentines". Every day I had a small gift for her. Nothing big or expensive (small box of candies, small stuffed animal, earrings, socks, etc). Then, on the "big day" I had spent a good amount of money I had saved on some very sexy lingerie for her. So, for my gift, that evening after we got home from the club, she gave me a fashion show of what I had bought her. very sexy!!!!
