to this web's manager i want to say am sorry to post this information here, i couldnt find a forum or a place more apropiate to tell you this, i have a virus on my pc and i cant use it much until i take it to be fixed, its a new pc and i had just installed internet...i just went to playboy's page, quicktime dot com and here when my antivirus informed me the pc has W32.BLASTER.WORM i post this message hopping to be helpful cause i like this page a lot, i only entered the webcam girls gallery

the worm you got is using a bug in windows to intrude your system.
normally its spread by email as it can send itself to other pcs.

Your best bet for a quick solution is what Duderino just gave you. But for long term reasons you need to get a bootable copy of Norton AntiVirus or Intego VirusBarrier. Just make sure it has the ability to contain viruses that it cannot fix or destroy.

There is a possiblity you might of recieved this virus through a backdoor, since Windows XP installs with all of its ports, services, and communication tools open and unsecured. I would highly suggest taking a port scan and security check from broadbandreports and symantec to find all your weak spots.

free virus scan..use it often,even if you have a software based scanner I use an online one too just to be safe as my McAfee has missed stuff my pc-cilin found. free security scan also is good as it tries to commuicate w/ your pc the way a trojan would,etc..

get zonealarm..a free firewall if you do not have one.

i got the virus too after i formated my comp... you need to update you windows, or the virus will always dl itself next time you log on to internet. the funny part is... if you press clt+alt+del just once, you get the task-thingie... and if you search for msblast.exe there, youll find it, just press "end task" on msblast.exe and you can surf freely until you restart you comp ^^

go to the link to dl the updates, they will prevent msblast from dl itself

I got this virus, once upon a time.
I still have the patch to it somewhere.
But I don't remember it going through e-mail.
I was told (from a t.v. show) that it can get onto your p.c. just from getting online and surfing.

I´m a no-talent-newbie in computers. I´ve got something called "AVG 6,0" Is that ok, or have I just been lucky? I´ve never had any serious problems.

AVG is pretty good man.
I don't like it personally, but it will catch things well.
You should be fine with that.

I had the worm as well. That and the welchia virus. Both of them suck.

last week I had the mydoom and a worm, got them when my son had temp. disabled nortons. the worm I don't remember the name right now but it keyed on nortons and rewrote the regedit file to keep you from killing it. nasty sucker but its gone now
