Here is how its done:
Make a .rar file with any files of your choice
Find a picture you would like to use
open up the command prompt
type (copy /b image.jpg + archive.rar output.jpg) *
DONE

image.jpg being the picture of your choice
archive.rar being the archive of your choice
output.jpg being the output jpg that you want

Huh, that's actually pretty simple. If I would have thought of that I might have actually put forth the effort. Basically it's still Steganography but it's embedded in the file not encrypted. There are other programs that encrypt the file into the image and require a password to open them, they can do it with mp3, wav, gif, and all kinds of files. This is a pretty quick and easy way to do it though, nice thread Andrew!

Its certainly not the most secure thing on earth but I'm fairly confident that you can keep "quite a few" files hidden right under the average computer users nose...
