HOW TRUE, ONE THING THOUGH, AMERICANS SHOULD NOT REALLY BE GIVEN A SAY IN THE MATTER, THEY DON'T HAVE A TASTE FOR BEER, "COORS LIGHT"?????? THAT'S LITTLE MORE THAN COLOURED WATER.

Do you honestly think you can get the recipe of best beer by asking? There are as many best beers than there are people to answer. Everyone has own favorite, you just need to taste them and find it.

Alot of you guys are talking about lagers rather than real beer. If that's your preference, then great. Some of the best lagers are Belgian (who says Belgium is boring) and are well worth a try.
If you want real beer - the best ones are from SMALL English independant breweries - Fullers, Shepherd Neame and Hook Norton being the largest of these. There are plenty of very strong regional brews, including 'Saxon Berserker' from the south coast - something like 7.5% but tastes really good.
Some Dark Star beers are also really good - you need to visit some proper beer festivals, try a few and make up your own mind.
My preference is cider - there are some great scrumpy ciders from independant brewers, mainly from the west country, but some good ones from the Isle of Wight too.

The best place to ask would be CAMRA - Campaign For Real Ale - they have their website at: www.camra.co.uk

You'd probably be able to contact people who'd be happy to send you information as well as a few beers!

There are only 2 adult beverages I absolutely REFUSE to drink - Heineken & Miller High Life. I love Milwaukee's Best.

Yes, the better question is what are your favorite beers. I enjoy Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Guniness, Anchor Steam, Sam Adams, and beers from Rogue Brewery (Try the Dead Guy Ale). Sure, there are great Belgian and Germany Beers, and I've had a few Chimays, but those are typically too expensive and hard to find in the states.

That all depends on your taste ofcours. You have pilsener beer, white beer, Old brown, tripple, double etc etc.
