I used to collect firearms, 'til my crazy ex decided she would do me a favor and sell them all while I was out of town. Old cars, tools, and car mags now. Only a few guns so far. I haven't seen any that I could afford that I wanted.

I collect model trains. Have been doing so since I was 12. I also like to build model railroad layouts. I have built somewhere around 20 of them over the years. Some for me, many for other people. I also enjoy reading about railroading and have a collection of about 200 books on the subject.

Hard to say why I collect trains. I enjoy looking at them. I have a few hundred displayed in a case in my office. They represent history to me that I find interesting.

i dont collect anything really but I have a box in my cellar that contains things that were, for some reason or another, important to me when i was a kid. it is a few comics, a couple of G.I. Joes, some toy cars, misc photos; and other crap.

I figure my kids will toss it in the trash when I am dead.

According to book value my Rusty die casts, and nascar collectables are worth a pretty penny though you would never get book value on any collection. I never have any intention of selling them. Yes, they do gather a lot of dust even though they are in glassed in shelves, but at the time I bought each piece it ment something to me, and some were gifts.

Like another poster said my kids will end up selling them, or throwing them away

Albums are kinda hard to come by these days aren't they, do they even make them any more ?

Its hard to say that I really collect anything - I guess my dvd collection would be the closest thing to it. I have around 300 movies (probably more) and when a new "Special Edition" of a movie I loved comes out - like a tard I have to run out and buy it. So its more of a non-drug addiction than something I collect as a hobby.
