they took the free verson of spysweeper off the net but some people still have the install to it

To get the spyware off, you could download a free trial version of CounterSpy or SpySweeper. CounterSpy got the best reviews by PC World, SpySweeper was second best. Once you're all clean, Spybot S&D, Adaware SE, and SpywareBlaster should be good.
