Song Lyric Help

Now, I never ask you people for anything right?

I'd like some help deciphering some lyrics to a song I've been unable to figure out. I've been listening to this song for over ten years and recently realized I still don't know all the words. I have searched on the Googlies but these lyrics are nowhere to be found. I have included the lyrics. The gaps between the parentheses are the small pieces I can't seem to decipher by listening. If you are inclined to apply your keen ear to this endeavor and can fill in the missing gaps for me, I would be forever grateful.

My Daddy always listened to stuff like that when I was little, the guy might have been on an acid trip. Sounds like alot of the stuff from Black Sabbath, Iron Butterfly, Janis Joplin, and many others. Not bad music, sounds a bit like The Honey Palace. I hear "I ran in but shakes beers" in the first part and "breathing the sky" in the second part.
